Facilities Manager

 

 

Position Summary:

 

The Facilities Manager is responsible for maintaining all of Zion Baptist Church property to include buildings and grounds. This position will also supervise Service Attendants and Janitorial Staff.

 

Position Responsibilities:

 

  • Ensure that building is properly set up each week for all scheduled events.

  • Maintain security of all church properties.

  • Coordinate training on the proper procedure for filling and preparing the baptism pool for pre and post baptisms.

  • Supervise janitorial staff, ensuring that all contract items are fulfilled in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring all events are set up in compliance with building codes and ensuring that ground maintenance is performed as needed.

  • Maintain a contact list of all contractors that provide services on building, equipment, and grounds.

  • Evaluate all contractor bids and make recommendations to the Board of Directors.

  • Ensure that all shipping and receiving packages are properly stored upon receipt.

  • Ensure that proper sign-in/sign-out procedures are in place for all church equipment/property.

  • Maintain a listing of all equipment/maintenance extended warranties and evaluate the value of each.

  • Evaluate periodically the insurance needs of the church and make recommendations to the Board of Directors.

  • Prepare work schedule for service attendants and ensure that coverage is provided for all scheduled events.

  • Ensure all miscellaneous repairs to building and equipment are done in a timely manner.

  • Submit and manage annual budget for building, equipment, and grounds.

  • Ensure that all maintenance problems are reported in a timely manner to pastor and church administrator.

 

Qualifications:

 

A college degree or equivalent experience in general maintenance and facility logistics and experience in leading, managing and motivating team members. Strong customer service skills desired. Ability to interpret and explain contents of contracts and quotes and make a recommendation for building needs to Board of Director.

 

Full-time Position

Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds, Kneel, Walk and stand for long periods of time, climb a ladder as needed and push and pull floor objects.
